How to help the old live a happier life?

1.Write down why this topic matters to you

Lanlan Yang: For me, grandparents are the ones first lead me to learn about the world. Since I was an infant, they have been with me and have taken care of me. However, as I grown up and as they become older, I have less and less time to company them, so I want to do things for them and all the old people in our society to let they become happier.

Zhizhou Liu: Because all of we will be old someday in the future, I wish that my old-age could be a little peaceful and tranquil.

Chuxiao Zeng: The happiness of the elderly matters to me because in the family, it is my duty to care about the elderly. As a son and a grandson, I care about the happiness of my parents and my grandparents. Also, I will grow old one day, by then, I want to be happy as well. Therefore, I think it is vital to figure out how to create happiness for the elderly.

Fengming Zhu: I care about my family, and all of my family members will one day grow old, I wonder how to make them live a better life in the rest of their lives.

Linze Li: Our family , friends ,even ourselves have to face the problem. Happiness of the elders is relevant to us.

2.Write down which part of this big topic intrigues you

Lanlan Yang: How do the elderly stop suffering from being cheated by cheats; Children's company and nursing home system; Safety guarantee for elderly people living alone; After retirement, old people begin to become disconnected from society; Medical care for the elderly.

Zhizhou Liu: Abundant material insurance and spiritual life.Because nobody wishes that when we are old,we brave the wind and dew;also we do not hope that nobody care about us even though we want for nothing.I think what we should do to deal this problem, these two aspects is necessary to be considered.

Chuxiao Zeng: Communication is vital in the for the happiness of the elderly, especially the communication with their children and grandchildren. However, it is not always the case that the children do not want to communicate with them, but they can’t communicate with the elderly in the way that both of them can accept. It is the generation gap that caused the problem. In fact, when they cannot communicate in the way they like, they can’t understand what the other side wants. Therefore, misunderstanding arises, and the elderly cannot feel happy. What intrigues me is that, is there a way to erase the generation gap, so that the elderly and the children can be friends, and they can truly understand each other, which eventually leads to the happiness of the elderly?

Fengming Zhu: Most of issues are caused by the phycological impact. There must be rooted and sufficient mental influences leading to such situation. When do getting the data from the research, I want to analyze it from the phycological side. And while working on the solution, phycological impact will be focused on more.

Linze Li: Connection between square dance and happiness of the elders. Do research to find why the elders take part in square dance spontaneously and how do they get happiness in this way. To go further, find more activities that are easy to promote to help the elders live more happily.

3. Our joint mission

Take square dance as an entry point, find out the reasons (both mentally and physically) why the senior citizens feel happy in such an activity, and work out the solution that satisfy these conditions.
